Description of Services:
  • Helps to prevent dental disease in children and promotes good oral health
  • Provides oral health screening in all schools
  • Provides mouth examinations, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and oral health education at the Health Unit clinic to eligible children and youth age 17 and under
  • Fluoride Varnish Clinics
    • Provides fluoride to preschool children
    • Offered free to families whether they have dental coverage or not
    Healthy Smiles Ontario
    • Covers the cost of regular visits to a licensed dental care provider, such as a dentist or dental hygienist
    • Covers a full range of preventive and restorative dental services including check-ups, cleaning, scaling, fillings, extractions, x-rays and more

    • All children up to 4 years of age


    Healthy Smiles Ontario

    Children must be:

    • 17 years of age and younger

    • a resident of Ontario and

    • a member of a household with an Adjusted Family Net Income (AFNI) at or under the levels shown here
