Description of Services:

Carries out provincial legislation for safe drinking water by providing information and services that ensure public safety of drinking water and swimming areas

Conducts inspections and assessments of small drinking water systems
Advises owners/operators on steps to be taken to ensure safety of drinking water including water treatment, testing and training
Supports municipal water works to announce boil water advisories when health risk is indicated and reviews lab testing to determine when water is safe
Monitors the quality of municipal water supplies
Provides information on water treatment and alternative methods
Investigates drinking water complaints and related illnesses
Inspects public facilities including beaches, spas, swimming pools, and whirlpools
Posts public swimming advisories when water is unsafe
