  • Partners with Dryden Native Friendship Centre to provide transportation services
  • Provides transportation to medical appointments, shopping, and social activities
  • Works by providing up to 6 discount taxi vouchers per month

  • Fees: Service
    Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Must be 60 years of age or older and meet one of the following criteria:

    • The client is in receipt of or eligible to receive other long term care community services

    • The client is isolated and requires social interaction or stimulation


    Transportation


    Client must meet one of the following criteria:

    • Unable to access public transportation because of short or long term physical limitations

    • Requires escort during the trip because of frailty or cognitive impairment

    • Specialized transit is not available or the individual does not meet the eligibility criteria for Handi-Transit

    • Public transportation is not available and friends or relatives are not available or able to provide transportation
    Application:
    • Initial assessment required

    • Requires completion of a photo identification card (valid for 1 year); done during initial visit
