Program: Fort Frances Site - Safe Bed Program

Description of Services:
  • Operates a voluntary, short-term residential program to support individuals experiencing a mental health and/or an addictions crisis
  • Stabilizes the individual and provides referrals to community agencies for longer term recovery
  • Services provided include the following:
    • Crisis support and counselling
    • Basic living needs such as food, clothing and personal care items
    • Daily living skills such as cooking, housekeeping and personal hygiene
    • Advocacy, referrals and connections to community services

    Eligibility - Population(s) Served:
    • Individuals 16 years of age and older experiencing a mental health and/or addictions crisis and

    • Are unable to remain in the current living situation

    • Must be an individual who can be safely supported in the community and not at risk of harming themselves or others and

    • Is medically stable and agrees to voluntarily participate in the program
    Application:
    • Referrals accepted from police (OPP or Treaty Three Police Service), a mobile crisis team or a hospital/police team

    • Length of stay is up to a maximum of 30 days
