Description of Services:
  • Provides a program for care partners to help them strengthen their caregiving knowledge and skills
  • Helps care partners manage the day-to-day care of an individual living with dementia, reduce stress and burden, and improve their ability to cope with the demands of caregiving
  • CARERS (Coaching, Advocacy, Respite, Education, Relationship, Simulation)
    • Offers an eight week, skills-based group that teaches practical skills and problem solving techniques needed to care for someone living with dementia
    • Teaches communication skills through the use of simulation
    • Offers emotional support
    TEACH (Training, Education and Assistance for Caregiving at Home)
    • Offers a four week, interactive group that allows care partners to share and learn from other care partners
    • Provides practical communication and coping skills
    • Focuses on self-care, navigating the healthcare system, relationship changes, and future planning
