Description of Services:	Maintains the Marathon Recreation Complex Offers a variety of children's programming and recreational activities Responsible for managing and maintaining several municipal recreation facilities, including: Del Earle Park Dyer's Baseball Park Lakeview Community Hall Marathon Arena Marathon Tennis Courts Pebble Beach Park Peninsula Golf Course Penn Lake Park Port Hole Pool Seniors' Sports Park Superior Slopes Ski Hill Youth Sports Park The department is also responsible for the following: Summer, fall, winter, and spring programming including public swimming, Red Cross swimming lessons, public skating, drop-in hockey Assisting groups and organizations with their leisure activity interests and initiatives Preparing long-term strategies including the identification of community leisure activity needs Actively promoting all recreation programs to ensure maximum participation and cost effectiveness Coordinating annual special events such as the Christmas Parade and Volunteer Service Awards Providing assistance to groups seeking financial or other assistance
