Description of Services: Home Maintenance Service
Provides home maintenance or repair jobs for Life Long Care participants to ensure they are living in a safe, clean and secure environment independently
The job may be undertaken regularly, occasionally or one time only
  • Regular jobs may include:
    • house cleaning
    • yard maintenance
    • snow shovelling
    • indoor window washing
    • One time jobs may include helping the participant arrange home repairs and renovations
    • Infrequent or periodic jobs may include:
      • seasonal house cleaning
      • washing indoor walls
      • washing of drapes/slipcovers/upholstery
      • washing outside windows
      • scrubbing cupboards
      • cleaning out wood burning stoves

    Homemaking Service
    Support services provided may include:
    • light housekeeping
    • laundry
    • ironing
    • mending
    • shopping
    • banking/paying bills
    • planning menus
    • caring for children
    • assisting an individual with any of the above

Fees: None
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Urban Indigenous individuals who are elderly, disabled, chronically ill and/or have special needs who are clients of the Life Long Care Program
