Organization: Sunset Women's Aboriginal Circle
Description of Services: Works to empower and support Indigenous women and their families, especially during pregnancy and the first year with the new baby
Offers education, programs, workshops and presentations in the following areas:
  • Advocacy when dealing with child welfare agencies
  • Domestic violence
  • Health and wellness
  • Mental health
  • Pregnancy, childbirth and infant care
  • Parenting
  • Traditional teachings and celebrations
Support services can include but are not limited to:
  • Breastfeeding support and home pregnancy tests
  • Clothing for baby and maternity clothes (gently used)
  • Diapers and wipes
  • Emergency help with food vouchers
  • Material and equipment loans
  • Ride passes
  • Teen pregnancy support

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Focus is for Indigenous women who are pregnant, new mothers or with infants under 12 months of age but open to anyone in need of services
